Starting Out
My husband is in the National Guard and for now is in Iraq. I am facing a year on my own. Well, four months of it have already gone by but the rest stretches out there endlessly. Or so it seems.
I was always the type who was terrified of being alone for any great length of time. So when he came home and said the deployment was to be a year, I just about died!
Four months down the road I found out I am a lot stronger than I thought. Thanks to the help and encouragent of many friends and some family I'm going to be ok.
My daughter and her friend are living with me while hubby is gone. They will be referred to collectively as "the kids"
I have one dog and they have two. The three of them will be referred to collectively as "the dogs"
:)

Hello, I just came across your block while messing around on the internet. I'm 25, female, living in Boone, North Carolina, USA. I don't have family overseas, but admire all of those that go through this. It doesn't mean much coming from some girl in another country, but just know some one out there is sending you positive vibes and positive wishes for you and your family.
Thank you Courtney. Actually your comment means a lot. We live in the midwest now but used to live in N.C. Very beautiful area.
