Missing Him
To my husband
I miss him so,
I miss him so,
The days drag on and on,
a painful ache
a painful ache
deep in my stomach.
Intense need of him-relentless.
Thoughts whirling in my head,
a collage of the events and feelings past,
mixed with hopes and dreams of the future.
One memory running into the next
Colliding with hopes for tomorrows
until one becomes indistinguishable from the other-
a kaleidoscope of things to come?
What was still is
evolving into something new
but not foreign.
While waiting for his return,
and missing him so.
Peggy

While waiting for his return,

.A kaleidoscope of good things to come.
The rest of your lifetime,
happy together,
enjoying all that you and he
have nurtured.
Something for you to look forward to
in these lonely times.
